Well hello little blog. Did you think I had forgotten about you? No, not forgotten, but in the flurry of getting ready for the wedding and ensuing visitors etc., something had to give. But I have missed you, and the chance to record and share the busy happenings around here.
Since last we spoke, we’ve visited family and friends in California, played a season of softball, had a 9th Grade Dance and moved up to high school, finished up a huge list of home improvements, welcomed family and friends to Woodinville, are hosting our exchange student’s sister for a month and had a daughter get married. Include in that a little sewing, reading, grocery shopping… living our regular life as well. I guess it was kind of busy here!
Here are a few snapshots of our time and also of some improvements I’ll blog about in a little more detail soon:
What has been my favorite project so far? Hands down, it has to be painting the barn. Although poor Karlo had to do most of the painting, it made the biggest impact and turned out perfectly. I hope to blog about that soon.
Lately we’ve been to Pike Place Market, Bellingham, Velodrome races, swimming and fishing at nearby lakes, camping! (ok, I stay home on those trips), to the mall, the Nordstrom sale (twice!), the One Direction concert in Seattle (so dreamy!), Wild Waves, the Experience Music Project. Right now the high schoolers are in Portland, OR with my beautiful teacher daughter, seeing the sights and checking out her new classroom for the new school year. (I’m trying to do laundry and giving the house a lick and a promise for cleaning.) This week includes a trip to Vancouver British Columbia, sailing on Lake Washington, a Mariner’s game, kayaking, and a visit to the Olympic Sculpture Park and Theo’s Chocolate in Seattle. Whew, that sounds like a lot! It’s been busy but I wouldn’t change a thing.
